The Teac VR-20 is essentially the same (but much cheaper!) recorder as the Tascam DR-08. The only noticeable difference between the two is that the newer Tascam records in 96kHz. With a simple hack however, you can get this feature in the older Teac by porting the newer firmware over.
Unfortunately this blog will not distribute the hacked firmware as this will likely infringe on Tascam/Teac's copyright, however it will provide a step by step on how to modify the official firmware for yourself.
